The Speed Dating Wine Tour ("SDWT", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 to that Act.
When you book a Tour, join our waitlist, or contact us, we may collect:
Where you voluntarily provide health information (e.g. an allergy or medical condition) or other "sensitive information" as defined in the Privacy Act, we treat your provision of that information for the stated purpose (guest safety and catering) as your consent to us collecting and using it for that purpose, in accordance with APP 3.3-3.4. We do not collect sensitive information beyond what you disclose.
We use your information to:
3.1 We do not sell your personal information. Under APP 6, we only use or disclose personal information for the purpose it was collected (running your Tour and related communications), a directly related secondary purpose you would reasonably expect, or a purpose you've separately consented to (e.g. marketing).
3.2 We share limited information with trusted third parties only where necessary to run the Tour, including:
3.3 We do not disclose one guest's personal information (including contact details, last name, or any other identifying information) to another guest, without the explicit consent of the person whose information it is, including where a guest requests another guest's details from us directly. If two guests wish to connect after the Tour, this is arranged only with the willing participation and consent of both parties.
3.4 We may disclose information where required by law, to protect the safety of guests or staff, or in connection with a genuine safety incident (e.g., to police, if involved under clause 5.5 of our Terms and Conditions).
3.5 Some of the third-party platforms we use (including Shopify and Meta) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. Under APP 8, we take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient handles your information consistently with the APPs, including by relying on those providers' own privacy and data protection commitments. By providing your information, you acknowledge it may be processed overseas as described in this clause.
Any photography or video captured on Tour is handled in accordance with our Good Human Code: we will not publish or share content that identifies a guest without their express written consent.
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including secure storage with our booking and email platforms. Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors; SDWT does not store full payment card details.
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law (including tax and business record-keeping obligations), after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations), by contacting us at info@thespeeddatingwinetour.com.au. In accordance with APP 12, we will respond to access requests within a reasonable period (we aim for 30 days) and will not charge a fee for making the request. You may also opt out of direct marketing at any time free of charge, consistent with APP 7, via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.
If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first at info@thespeeddatingwinetour.com.au so we can investigate and respond.
