SDWT Melbourne Hike & Wine — Sun 22nd Nov 2026 (25-45 y/o)

Join us for a full day that starts on the trail and finishes in wine country. The Speed Dating Wine Tour and Social Hikes Australia have teamed up to bring you something brand new, designed for singles who are ready to meet someone in real life.

Your morning begins with a guided social hike hosted by Social Hikes Australia, where conversation flows naturally on the trail. In the afternoon we head into wine country for lunch, a wine tasting and fun icebreakers and games, all with a curated group of people who actually show up.

THE HIKE

We'll walk the Donnelly's Weir and Maroondah Dam trail in the Yarra Ranges, around 7km of easy to moderate walking. We start at Maroondah Reservoir Park and cross the dam wall for sweeping views over the reservoir, then follow an old aqueduct track through tall forest to Donnelly's Weir, a peaceful little spot by the water. The return loops back through the forest, with a few short, steeper sections along the way.

Your Social Hikes Australia guides set a relaxed, social pace, so there's plenty of time to stop, chat and take in the views. Afterwards we'll catch our breath over a fresh fruit platter before heading to lunch.

ITINERARY

• Pre-tour coffee catch-up from 8:00am
• Depart Parliament CBD 8:30am for the drive out to the Yarra Ranges
• Arrive at the trailhead around 9:50am for a quick hello and briefing
• The hike: 10:00am to 11:45am
• Fresh fruit platter and a breather: 11:45am to 12:05pm
• Quick freshen up, then depart 12:10pm

• Depart 2:30pm
• Tokar Estate: arrive by 2:45pm for a wine tasting
• Depart 4:00pm
• Arrive back at Parliament by 5:00pm

WHAT TO BRING

Comfortable walking shoes with good grip, a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat. A fresh top for the afternoon is always a good idea.
